MFP: NEW YEAR... NEW RESOLUTIONS

Each year I make resolutions. Each year I make the SAME resolutions. I never quite finish or accomplish anything! This year I wanted it to be different than all the last ones.

Out with the old...we decided to burn a list of bad memories in 2012 to say "goodbye." We then made a our list of resolutions for 2013 and attached them to rockets and sent them soaring into the night sky!

It was a blast...far too much drinking occurred...but otherwise one of my most memorable New Years celebrations as of yet.

Resolution 1: Start Juicing

My parents bought us a juicer for Christmas and I finally received it in the mail a week ago. Let's just say it was a bit scary at first but once I got the hang of it I fell in love!

I haven't quite figured out a perfect recipe yet, but berry's make a delicious recipe.

Berryrific Recipe:

1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup blackberries
1/4 cup strawberries
1/2 cup spinach
3 sprigs of mint (secret ingredient to make any smoothie Amazeballs!)
1/2 cup almond milk
2 tbsp chia seeds (for thickness and other awesome healthy perks)
2 tbsp plain low-fat greek yogurt

Mix with blender and serve.

Resolution 2: Run a 10K

I signed us up for several 5K's in 2012, as it was a goal to make it through at least one, and I can proudly say that I accomplished at least that! My goal to run a 10K is set for mid-year at this point in time. We will see how the training goes and how focus I remain.

If anyone lives in the Houston area and wants to join me, I have signed up for 2 5K's: The Choco Loco 5K on January 26th and Miles for Miracles on February 2nd.

I would love to meet some new runners in the Houston area!

Resolution 3: Be a better GF!

I have been working so much, hence the delay in posts missing for the past few months, that I feel like I've failed at being a good girlfriend. As silly as that may sound, it happens when you travel extensively. When I would finally have a moment to breathe from work, the last thing I wanted to do is be sexy!

Resolution 4: NO DRINKING for 2 Months :-(

This has already been extremely difficult and I'm only on day 9 of 60. I'm not a big drinker but when I do drink I try to stick to the weekends only if I can help it. I try to pick either Friday or Saturday night as drinking two nights in a row at my age feels like hell on my body.

Wednesday Weigh-In:

Starting tomorrow, a weekly weigh-in will be documented for the world to see. I will only hold myself accountable if I pick a scheduled day and time and track it through a spreadsheet and pictures. Can't wait to start seeing some progress soon...this girl is tired of feeling fat!
