MFP: 1.30.13 - WEIGH-IN WEDNESDAY

Hey All!

It's that time again...Weigh-In Wednesday! And, plus some...read on!

I am proud to say that I have lost 4 pounds since last Wednesday's Weight-In! Today is something to be excited about...I'm back in the 150's! I was starting to think I would never see that number again. I know that sounds ridiculous but it's true. I've been busting my ass and wasn't seeing anything moving on the scale.

FROM 1.23.13

1.30.13

I don't know if being 30 has something to do with it, or my eating habits, or all of the above (i KNOW its all of the above...I'm just trying to justify it to myself some how).  It just seems to be so much harder to lose weight than it was in latter half of my 20's.

I am the most healthiest I've EVER been yet I am the HEAVIEST I've ever been. What is wrong with this equation?!?!?! It's SO frustrating to say the least.

Ok, enough venting. I've lost 4 pounds!!! I finished the 10-day cleanse from Advocare; starting the remaining part of the 24-Day Challenge!! These are something to be proud of, and to remember to keep pushing myself each day. It takes twice as much time to lose weight as it does to put in on. Repeating that to myself daily.

I wanted to show some FAT pic's of now and what I used to be...where I want to be...for a good visualization post. I'm having a hard time finding full body shots as I've avoided them for years now, thinking they make me look fat.

Well guess what YOU ARE FAT hooker!!! I'm not sure what I didn't understand about that! Lol. You would think after looking at the pictures I would wake up out of this fat fog and do something with myself.

October 2011

December 2011

January 2013

December 2012

This was probably my thinnest. I was in the 120's.

August 2007 or 2008 (can't remember)
It was easier then to lose weight...but it was unhealthy...I smoked, drank a lot, and skipped eating to keep the weight off. Your typical I'm indestructible 20's behavior.  Exercise was not in my vocabulary nor was healthy eating.

While I am working towards losing weight now...my view of what I want to look like has changed:

Now...this is BEAUTIFUL!
My view of skinny is now all about MUSCLE ladies. I want to have the ripped arms, the 6-pack abs, and amazing thighs!

Is it a reachable goal? You betcha! (saying that in my Sarah Palin voice :-D)

It's going to take a lot of hard work. There will be pain. There will be tears. There will be a lot of sweating. But, it IS achievable and it's NEVER too late to start your goals.

Today's post is all about ACHIEVEMENT peeps! I achieved my goal to lost a few pounds this week, while this is a small goal, it is still something measurable and achievable. I've given myself another goal, build MUSCLE. Eventually I will stop losing weight and start building muscle, which weighs more as we all know. I'm ok with that. For now, the goal is to tone and get down 135 lbs., then start focusing on building a more RIPPED body. I want to push myself to lose the weight, then and only then will I put the scale away and start becoming BARB the MUSCLE-ATOR! Lol. Yes, I just said that!

I would love to hear what others goals are. If you feel compelled, leave me a comment.

Also, you can follow me by clicking the "follow" button on the right-hand side if your interested in reading more of my daily shenanigans!

Happy Wednesday folks!

MFP: SATURDAY 5K RUN + HOUSE UPDATES

Hey Fancies!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was action packed and full of pain...damn shin splints >:(

HELLO! Hehehe...

My biggest fan!

Strike a pose!

Guess which one is me!! My ass is HUGE you can't me it!!

Feelin' good right at the beginning.

Dying here at the end...lol. I don't know how people run 13.1 or 26.2's...I was dying after 3!

Picked up the pace and sprinted to the finish line :-)

YA!!! Another 5K under my belt. Feeling SO accomplished.

Natalie, Anya, and Myself after the race. Glad we did it together, SO much fun :-)

The remainder part of my Saturday included my roller, Aleve, and a movie.

Not quite sure how to use the tape yet!

Went by the house to check on it Friday, then again on Sunday since I'm so anxious...you can see quite a lot was accomplished over the weekend! Glad we stopped by.

Friday: 1.25.13

Sunday: 1.27.13

It's very exciting to watch the progression. I only wish it would be done sooner! The schedule to be done in May just seems SO FAR away at this point.

Motivation Monday: It's your day, make it a great one!

Maybe one day...I keep telling myself...if I keep at it!

Love this quote...SO TRUE!!

Cannot believe I lost 2 pounds this weekend! Too ecstatic this morning :-)
I jumped on scale this morning, same as every other morning, and whoa before my eyes was a 2 pound loss! I thought it was wrong so I got off the scale and back on it, and the same number appeared again! I was starting feel like I was going to be stuck @ 162 FOREVER and low and behold, a loss that was completely unexpected.

This is exactly the motivation I needed to begin this week. I am feeling full of energy today, which is abnormal as I usually have a case of the 'Mondays' EVERY Monday. Lol. I am really looking forward to what the rest of the week holds. I am seeing, however; the dreadful push-up and burpee in my near future...we'll see what boot-camp has in store tonight.

Get motivated people and burn some calories today! I'd love to hear what motivates you.

Happy Monday Fancies!

MFP: JUST KEEP GOING...

Hey Fancies.

I went for a Spa Manicure at my amazing little hidden treasure - Paris Gallery Salon & Spa. If you live in the Houston/Katy area...go see Damaris...she's amazing!! She has been doing nails for 20+ years and is just the best.

I did a gel french 2 weeks ago and decided I wanted a little color this time. I found a light pink that is perfect for this Houston/Katy SPRING WEATHER were having!

pretty pretty pink gel mani
My nails are finally growing and are not breaking off! The hard gel helps keep a protection over my nails which is why I LoVe GEL MANI's. They hold up great when I go to boot-camp and am running around with weights and up and down on my mat continuously.

have i mentioned how much i HATE push-ups!

thinking I want to DIE :-D

You could not tell but my shins were killing me at this point in the night. I was trying to massage them but nothing was helping :-(

I paused my Polar from my pre-boot-camp run and forgot to re-Start once I started my fitness test 1 mile run...I was pissed to say the least >:-( I assume it was around a 50-100 additional calories burned, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I do have to say a big THANKS to one of my teammates, he motivated me to keep going as I had started walking because I had a cramp and my shin-splints were causing shooting pains. Without him I would have just continued walking and not made a good time.

I sucked it up, turned the volume up on my iPhone, and booked it. Towards the end, my teammate and I starting sprinting, we raced each other to the finish line and we had a 9:34 minute mile!!!!

A NEW RECORD ALL!!!

I was SO excited when my Trainer blurted out our number. I fell on the ground huffing and puffing and got a BIG high-five. While this may be a small accomplishment in the big picture, it was the triumph for me on my fitness journey I'm on! I think if I remember right, in 2011 when I last tested for boot-camp, I did the same fitness test and was at 11/12-minute mile. I remember being EXHAUSTED after just a 0.25 of a mile.

Thursday turned out to be an AWESOME day and the shin-splints were so worth it!

I'm still on week 1 and I'm expecting results. Let's be realistic...I still have a ways to go. I have to keep reminding myself this quote EVERYDAY!

Made a playlist for my 5K tomorrow...first time I've made a playlist for running. In no particular order...here it is:

If you love Dance music as much as myself than you'll LOVE LOVE some of these songs!

I'm taking a rest day today and plan to stretch out and roll-out my shins (thanks to Janice for saving me with her roller!). Want to be 100% for tomorrows run and set a new goal!

Happy Friday All! I'll post lots of pics of the run so stay tuned!

MFP: 1.23.13 - WEIGH-IN WEDNESDAY

Hey All! It's that time again (a day late)...Weigh-In Wednesday!

I took a picture of my scale yesterday morning and was DISAPPOINTED to say the least. While I only just started up boot-camp again, and running regularly this week, I feel that I should NOT be GAINING weight but rather LOSING instead!

Perhaps my hopes are set a bit too high. :-(

So true!!

I have been battling a slight cold this week and have not felt 100%. That has not stopped me from working out, but it has slowed me down a bit, I think anyway.

Because I GAINED a pound, I wanted to push extra hard to burn some calories on my pre-boot-camp run and at boot-camp itself.

I burned 812 calories between the two of them and I ran an extra 0.25 of a mile to push myself towards my 10K new years resolution goal for this year!

The BF said that I should not be discouraged by the scale because he is seeing a difference...that was sweet of him :-) Those sweet words are what keep me motivated to get this BIG BOOTY in shape!

I found this perfect quote on Pinterest...I need to read it to myself daily!

After boot-camp I came home and made a spinach, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, low-fat plain greek yogurt, Perfect Fit Protein powder, chia seed, Savanna Bee Co. honey, almond milk SMOOTHIE! It was delish!

Protein Smoothie

In other news, I found this amazeballs app, from another blogger's recommendation, that helps with keeping track of food intake by scanning the barcodes. It's ingenious! You can keep track of your water intake, exercise, and food/calories intake.

LOVE LOVE!

Fooducate App is FABS!

Go check it out yourself...it's FREE so there are no excuses people!

I am preparing for a Chocolate Lovers 5K called The Choco Loco 5K on Saturday...cannot wait! Who doesn't love running to eat chocolate...me...duh!! It goes along with my motto...'I WORKOUT so I can EAT.'

Hope everyone had a great Wednesday... mine was uneventful but we are one day closer to Friday!

Chao.

MFP: BOOTCAMP + THE BIGGEST LOSER

Hey Fancies!

'Get it girl!

That's what I kept telling myself last night while burning my 731 calories. I started my Boot-camp back up and wanted to get some extra cardio in before that, so I went for a run before boot-camp started up.

I was damn proud of my accomplishments yesterday! I was surprised that I kept all my energy throughout both activities. Maybe the Advocare SPARKS, fiber drinks, and omegaplex really are working!!! They taste delish too!

There is no boot-camp tonight so a good run is in order to keep on track. What are ya'll's workout plans for tonight? I'd love to hear some great ideas! Perhaps I will do some free weights as well to continue building my 'musculs'!

MUSCLE BURNS MORE CALORIES they say!!!

While at boot-camp last night, my trainer found my OLD measurements from 2011...I was shocked to see the weight change but the other numbers weren't that far off! It made me feel good that within a little over a year, my largest change was just my weight (and that was only 6 lbs.). All other numbers were pretty close to 2011!

In seeing the weight change, I will have to say I was a bit disappointed with myself. I really have let my weight get the best of me and it makes me sad. I am holding true to 2013 and this will be my year!

I plan to lose those 6 lbs. + some and build muscles that I've never had before! I want to be able to put a bikini on this summer and NOT feel self-conscious or doubt myself.

Baby steps...that's the plan.

Having watched 'The Biggest Loser' last night, which I can say is one of my FAV shows, it brought back a lot memories of how I once felt when I first started running. I remember I couldn't even run 0.15th of a mile without huffing and puffing and feeling like I wanted to die. Its amazing the impact of what continual dedication to a sport that I once hated feels to me now.

I can honestly say I now love running! While I still huff and puff, that never will change, it's something I look forward to. When an awesome song comes on Pandora, a feeling of motivation kicks in and I kick it into high gear running with the beat. I love me some dance music...but 'Beauty and a Beat' by Beiber is the go-to for pumping me up at this moment! I love Morgan Page, Swedish House Mafia, Medina, Deadmau5 & many others. Dance music just gets me excited and puts me in this ready to workout mode. Love Love!

What are your go-to tunes for working out? I'd love to hear some ideas!

Have a fabulous Tuesday Fancies!

MFP: SAN ANTONIO GIRLS TRIP + ADVOCARE CHALLENGE

Hey Fancies! Hope everyone had an awesome weekend.

Besides starting to come down with a bit of a cold, I managed to enjoy a girls trip to San Antonio Riverwalk this weekend. It turned out to be a blast! I'm SO glad I went.

Sad that she had to use her Fila bag on the trip :-D

Begging ducks!

The weekend turned out nice and relaxing. It's just what I needed as I started coming down with a cold on Friday :-( I'm making it thru though and just have a runny nose and lots of sneezing, which is much better than what I've seen going around.

Some awesome shopping finds from this weekend...I found an amazing Fossil purse...LOVE LOVE! The leather is SO soft and the purse is made very well. It works with all outfits too!

I was also very excited to try the Estee Lauder - Double Wear foundation in 3W1 Tawny. It's a great Medium to Full coverage foundation that has gotten rave reviews! Very excited to test this out this week!

New Fitness Challenge:

In other great news...Bob and I decided to try the Advocare 24-Day Challenge today! My friend Kelly, from pics above, and her hubby have lost 50+ pounds between the two of them using this stuff. My trainer from bootcamp also uses it and says it amazeballs!

I forgot to grab a measuring tape while out at Target yesterday, so I'm going to run out this afternoon to grab one and make sure I start off right by taking my before then after measurements. I'm really pumped. I think this is just what I needed to start my weight-loss off right.

The Sparks are delicious as I've had them before, but I was nervous about the taste of the Fiber Drink. It works just like Chia Seeds. If it sits in liquid for a bit of time it gelafies (that's my made up word). I mixed it with a bit of orange juice and it was better than I thought. I would relate it to drinking flaxseed with some pulpy orange juice. It was good...I was expecting bad...but if you like ground flaxseed you'll love this!

I jumped on the scale and gained a couple of pounds this weekend. It's expected since I did not get a chance to work out this weekend. I start bootcamp tonight and will probably be SO sore and not able to walk since it's been so long since weight training was mixed in my fitness schedule. I'm looking forward to the pain. As Megan from Miss Madisons Charmed Life says, "My FAT is CRYING"! That will be me tonight!

I want to know about your challenges, your fitness commitments, and your opinion so leave a comment! Hope everyone has a great Monday.
